So you wanna be a movie star?

The Victorian Electoral Commission is making a short film about young people who have taken action on an issue they really care about. Ultimately the film is about how young people can engage with democracy to achieve positive change.

The film will be shown to Year 10 students as part of a Passport to Democracy short course. The aim of this course is to motivate young people to participate in our democracy by exploring the connections between politics and the things that students have identified as being important to them.

The VEC is seeking the stories of three groups of young people who have been active in their school or local community and in the process (even though they may not realise it) have engaged with democracy in some way.

If you would like to share your story and help inspire other young people to make a difference please contact the VEC’s Education Officer Alex Markham on (03) 9299 0599 or email alex.markham@vec.vic.gov.au by 4 June 2008

I want to do this!
